This tip was shown to me by my very good friend Janet Mathews. When you have a pattern with many parts, and you are grinding them to fit you keep bumping them with your finger moving all the pieces that fit, try the following. Get a clear roll of shelf paper and cut it about 2 or 3 inches larger than your pattern. Lay the clear shelf paper over your pattern with the sticky side up or facing you. Place the pieces of glass over your pattern as usual. The pieces sticks to the shelf paper, you can remove it if you need to grind more and stick it back down again. Your foiled pieces can be placed on the shelf paper and you can also tack solder the project. Then turn the project over and remove the shelf paper with no damage to your project.
