Cleaning Tips and Techniques




One of the best cleaning tips is to be sure to really clean your stained glass. Proper cleaning of stained glass is a step frequently overlooked. This step provides that finishing touch which adds to the professionalism of your work. Not properly cleaning will result in corrosion and a white mold along the solder lines.

    Removing solder balls?

  • Running water over stained glass projects will remove most solder balls.
  • What's the best way to clean a stained glass project?

  • Use a drop of Joy or similar detergent and gently clean glass. Then add a sprinkle of baking soda to the mix and scrub with a nail brush. You will repeat this again after you patina.
