Tips for Cutting Circles
Problems with cutting circles when making stained glass? - There are basically 4 steps for scoring circles.
- Score glass the shape of a circle free-hand or with a circle cutter, be sure to start and stop at the same point. You can use a permanent marker to place a dot where you started scoring, which will prevent you from going over the point where you started.
- Place your stained glass score line down on a piece of corrugated cardboard. Using light pressure, press along the score line until you see it run the circle.
- Turn the glass over again to the side you first scored on, then score several tangent cuts off the circle.
- Finally, break each tangent score with pliers or use Morton system. The circle should cut clean without jagged edges.
