What is Decorative Tole Painting?

Decorative art painting is a popular art form that involves decorating items of various materials by painting on them. An artist of decorative art painting uses a variety of techniques that turn ordinary items and non-functional items into works of art.

Decorative or tole painting is not a new form of art. This art form has been done for centuries by men and women to embellish personal objects and decorate gifts for loved ones. Decorative art painting can be done in oils or acrylic paints. To achieve different effects and results artists use various mediums such as extenders and retarders, clear glaze medium, stroke and blending mediums, blending gel, paint thickener, and texture paste.

I have been doing decorative art painting for more years then I like to say, but I will say I love it more then ever. There is no limit to what can be done with decorative art painting.
