    Solder spits and sputters?
  • You may be using too much flux
  • Neater solder lines?

  • Avoid starting or stopping iron at joints and intersections
  • Lines flat?

  • Flat lines can be caused by moving too quickly or not using enough solder
  • Solder bulges?

  • Moving too slowly or using too much solder. To remove bulges, clean the tip of the iron, place on the bulge, then pull the excess onto the glass
  • Peaks in solder?

  • The iron was not hot enough
  • Solder seeps through to other side?

  • The iron was too hot
  • Copper foil lifts up when soldering?

  • This could be caused by the iron being too hot, not moving fast enough, too much flux or a bad foiling job
    What can be used for a soldering board?

  • Use ceiling tiles for soldering as well as for pattern layout

    How to stop solder from adhering to box hinge?

  • Use white-out where you don't want solder to adhere
