When choosing a grinder, you will want to consider its work surface size, power and included accessories. The work surface size can range from 9" by 10" to 12" by 15". Larger work surfaces are good for grinding large pieces of glass. The power of grinders go from 1/22 hp to 1/8 hp. Accessories included may be bits, the size and quanitiy of bits, face shields and foot switches. Two other items you may wish to consider are the grinder's warranty and price.

There are three essential accessories you will need for your grinder. - grinder bits
- coolant
- anti-seize lubricant
- Mark Stay (preserves lines)
Optional accessories could include splash shield, thumb savers, glass grippers, eye shields or secondary work surfaces.
Specialty GrindersWant to make your own bevels, Then you will need a beveling grinder. Work with a lot of straight edges, you may want a flat surface grinder.
