Choosing Stained Glass Patterns
For Your Projects
or
Creating Your Own Designs

Custom Stained Glass

Once you decide which project you want to make, you can look for stained glass patterns.

Places to Locate Patterns

Pattern Books for Stained Glass

There are literally tons of books with patterns to choose from. These books can be found at the library, bookstores or at your local retail stained glass store.

Coloring Books

Coloring books are an excellent source for finding patterns. Designs are clear and simple.

Magazines

Stained glass periodicals are another source for finding patterns for stained glass.

Designing Your Own Pattern

If drawing is one of your strengths, you can draw your own pattern.

If you have a picture, you can enlarge it to the desired size. Be sure to add solder lines as glass does not like to make sharp bends and turns.

Stained Glass Software

Many programs come with ready-made patterns and allow you to modify, combine, scan or design a pattern.

I have used "Glass Eye" by Dragonfly software with much success.

This program has over 300 patterns that may be resized, recolored and printed. You can also scan and resize your own patterns into the program. It has a searchable glass catalog as well as demonstration video and tutorial.

If you would like to view their site, free patterns there, and an opportunity to get a trial version, FREE, good for 30 days, at no obligation Click Here

Internet Patterns

Here is a list of free patterns that we organized for you, to make it easier to find the patterns your are looking for.

Once you have your pattern, it is time to get your glass.
