Strengthening Stained Glass Using Reinforcements

    When should reinforcements be used?

  • Stained glass panels more than 3 feet square should be reinforced.
  • When do I need to think about using reinforcement bars or rods?

  • Reinforcing bars or rods need to be considered before designing the window, otherwise they can compromise the design of your work
  • How are reinforcement bars attached to a panel?

  • Reinforcement bars are soldered to the back of the panel by pre-tinning. Then they are soldered in several places on the panel.
